Quote generator
A quote sets out what you will deliver and what it will cost before work begins. Use it to confirm scope, price and payment terms with a client.
What to include in a quote
- Your business details and the client's details
- A quote number and the date
- A clear scope: deliverables, quantities and assumptions
- Unit prices, subtotal, VAT (if applicable) and total
- How long the quote is valid and the next steps to accept
Quote, estimate or proposal?
A quote is usually a fixed price for defined work. An estimate is an approximate price that may change. A proposal often includes approach and scope as well as price. Choose the term that matches how firm your price is.

Frequently asked questions
Should a quote include VAT?
If you are VAT registered, show VAT separately so the client can see the net and gross amounts. If you are not VAT registered, do not add VAT.
How long should a quote be valid?
Common periods are 14, 30 or 60 days. State the validity period on the quote so both sides know when the price may change.
